The HAWKE Fund
Making a Difference - One Player at a Time

Honoring the memory of Lonnie Hawke. Supporting baseball programs in the Delaware Valley School District.

Who the Fund Is Named For

The HAWKE Fund is named for Lonnie Hawke — a friend, a coach, a husband, a father, and one of those people who made everyone around him better just by showing up.

Lonnie grew up in Andover, New Jersey. He carried his love of baseball and softball through his whole life, and when he and his wife Beth settled in Pike County, Pennsylvania, he dove headfirst into youth sports — not just as a parent, but as a coach and volunteer who gave his time, energy, and heart to every kid on every team.

In 2017, Lonnie was diagnosed with ALS — Lou Gehrig's Disease. He fought hard. On July 19, 2018, he was called up to the Field of Dreams. He was 50. The summer before he passed, both of his sons — Lawson and Jesse — made their All-Star teams. Those who were there say they ran a little faster and hit a little harder that year.

Lonnie Hawke
"Play for fun. Support your teammates. Carry yourself with dignity and respect. Try your best. Don't be afraid to fail. And if you do, pick yourself up. If you have the chance to give back — do it selflessly, and for the benefit of others."
